Banana Bars with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting

Everyone who eats bananas runs into the problem now and again of what to do with the extra ripe bananas on the sink. We have a dessert for that! Banana Bars with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting are sweet solutions. Made with pure Brantview Farms Maple sugar and syrup, these bars meld banana and maple into a rich, creamy dessert dream. Try these for your next dessert.

 

Ingredients:

Bars

1/2 cup butter softened

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla

1 cup flour

1/2 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp cinnamon

2 bananas mashed

Frosting

8 oz cream cheese

6-7 T butter softened

2 cups powdered sugar

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 8x8 square baking dish with parchment paper. Lightly spray and set pan aside.

In large bowl combine butter, maple sugar, egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add dry ingredients gradually to wet ingredients until incorporated. Add mashed bananas last. Pour batter into pan, spreading evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until toothpick can be inserted and removed clean. Let cool. Once bars are cool, spread cream cheese frosting to top. Store bars in airtight container in refrigerator.
